Last night was difficult for me. The reality of my situation finally hit me, and scared me. After our first orientation session I was completely convinced of my own inadequacy. I was reminded, however, how even the most pathetic, weak people are used in order to accomplish the most daunting and glorifying tasks! Please keep lifting me and the others in this program up, that we would be equipped and used to accomplish the impossible.
Some details, for those who are interested in that sort of thing:
We'll be leaving tomorrow from Denver and flying to Frankfurt, and then to Almaty, Kazakhstan, both flights are nonstop. In Almaty we have a 12 hour layover before flying on to our final destination of Ust Kamenogorsk on Sunday afternoon. On Monday, then, we are meeting with the Director of Education for the oblast (state) of Eastern Kazakhstan in order to get up-to-date on the details of our stay and our working, living situation. The dream while in Ust Kamenogorsk (Ust) was to teach English in three public secondary schools and to have room and board taken care of as well as some sort of stipend. Our meeting on Monday will give us more clarity on the reality of our working and living situation while in Ust, please be thinking of this.
Some things to be continuing to lift up:
